Vegan Baileys made with Almond Milk

Image result for vegan baileysBaileys is jumping on the Vegan bandwagon with this vegan version of the popular drink made with Almond Milk. This looks like a nice product, I've never tried Baileys but I know it is a popular drink, especially around Christmas, and this newest vegan product will be great news to some people.

The fact that a popular brand has made a vegan drink shows how veganism is becoming more mainstream. Almond milk is a great choice as it will give the drink a nice flavour, although hopefully in the future they will make versions with other types of non dairy milk for anyone with allergies.

I love the bottle design as it stands out and is not going to be mixed up with the non-vegan drink. It is not specifically targeted at vegans either but shown to be dairy and gluten free so I think this will appeal to a wider audience.

I'm not a big drinker and hardly drink alcohol at all but I like that there are more options for vegans. Hopefully this drink will be available in bars and restaurants. It looks like it would make an amazing gift and would be a nice addition in baking- Bailey's cake, cupcakes, or even Bailey's buttercream, I could go on. Look out for this in the shops, let's hope it is widely available and more brands follow suit by making vegan options.

It can be hard to find a good Vegan cider but this Harry Westons Vintage cider is available in supermarkets and labelled vegan. Not a lot of brands label their alcohol so it is nice to find one you can trust which tastes good too.

Homemade Vegan Cocktails

My favourite drink is Disaronno, which is vegan and a lovely amaretto drink.

I used to mix it with fizzy drinks but I was looking for something healthier so I bought some Cherry juice to mix it with. This is obviously better than drinking acidic fizzy drinks.

The cherry juice is from Sainsburys and labelled vegan, again I like the move for more products to be labelled vegan even if they are simple products that you can assume are suitable it makes it easier to shop and find products to buy.

This is a simple drink to make, a small amount of Disaronno with cherry juice is an easy and simple home made cocktail.

Having juice instead of fizzy drinks is also healthier than having sugary fizzy drinks. Obviously any alcohol should be consumed in small amounts but compared to cocktails mixed with various spirits and mixers in bars, this home made version will be better for you.

Grab your favourite spirit and try a home made cocktail with your favourite juice there are so many option from blueberry to pomegranate you'll be spoilt for choice.

Vegan finds at the Co operative

The co operative Food shops are great places to find vegan products. They have many vegan options and label their own products vegan clearly. This is perfect when you need some quick, convenient vegan food. Co-op stores are local in many areas so hopefully you will have one near you.

This pasta sauce was a great buy. It is vegan and delicious! I used it to make a quick pasta bolognese. If you don't feel like cooking you could simply heat this sauce and add it to cooked pasta. If you feel like making the meal more interesting you can add soya mince, onion and mushrooms.

There is also a great selection of vegan alcohol, it is clearly labelled so no need to waste time looking it up. This Cava was delicious and the best part is it's vegan!

There is a nice selection of vegan products at the co-operative food. The trend of supermarkets labelling more products vegan is continuing which is great to see and makes shopping as a vegan easier all the time.

A toast to the New Year

Cheers to 2016- this is a time to raise a glass to the year to come, will it bring good fortune, new friends, new adventures? Hopefully all of these and more!! But when you are raising a glass of something sparkling you want it to be vegan right?

Vegan alcohol is increasing in popularity and being labelled more to cater for a wider range of people. One place where the vegan alcohol is great quality is at Sainsburys.

The taste the difference range is great for vegan options. The Cava is delicious and a great option for parties and special occasions.

There is a large choice of wines for everyone's taste. Red and white vegan options are available.

You are safe in the knowledge that the drinks are labelled with a 'V' and say vegan as some alcohol may only be vegetarian as they can contain milk and eggs. Having a vegan label is perfect for quickly identifying which drinks are suitable.

Vegan ciders are also available. The sparkling cider is worth trying, it is again from the taste the difference range and really is a top quality drink for a bargain price.

So raise a glass of vegan alcohol and cheers to the fact that vegan alcohol is easily available at the supermarket.
