Natural Beauty

Did you know a beauty product can call itself natural even if it only contains 1% natural ingredients. This is why the beauty industry is so confusing- that 'natural' product you buy can actually contain mostly harmful chemicals. Packaging can be misleading too with pictures of fruits and plants but it can actually contain more chemicals than your cleaning products.

So how do you become a natural beauty?

Read the label- don't just look at the front check out the ingredients. Remember what you put on your hair and body can go into your blood stream. Don't add toxins and chemicals you can't pronounce. Also make sure the product is vegan and cruelty free. If a brand is not using animal products and not testing on animals it is more likely to have healthier, natural ingredients in it.

Try home made- search for natural ways to clean your body and wash your hair. Try coconut oil as a hair mask, use bicarbonate of soda to clean your hair, rinse your locks with apple cider vinegar. If it's good enough to eat it's good enough to put on your hair and body.

Shop at natural beauty shops like Lush and Heavenly Organics. Simple ingredients with a sell by date are better for your skin. Fresh food needs to be used quickly, it doesn't last for years, your beauty products shouldn't either. If a products can last years it usually means it is full of preservatives. Remember your skin is an organ you should treat it well.
